I'm Sorry Dave...

So it's been a long time since my last update. School has just been dominating my life. This is the first month in a long time that I have actually been able to sit down and do something I want to do.

I just finished my production Lighting I & II classes and I'm wishing I could go back. I was on set for up to 8 hours a day sometimes and really miss the sound stage.

Last night, however, was a good night. A friend of mine informed me that a local theater was playing 2001: A Space Odyssey. I had to go. Thankfully, he paid for my ticket and I headed out.

I rushed into the theater and sat down just as the movie started to play. The theater went completely silent as the opening music started to come up. It was an amazing sight. Watching 2001 on the big screen for the first time and finally watching a Stanley Kubrick movie for the first time in a theater was an awe inspiring sight. The colors were so vivid and the image looked like a painting.

Finally the end came and Dave was reborn. The music hit the high notes, blared through the speakers and I started to cry. This was something I have been wanting to see since I had first seen the movie ages ago on VHS in my friend AJ's basement.

I walked out of the theater in a trance and just didn't know what to say. It was amazing.

All I could do was cry...

  1. NO shame in that my man. I would love to see 2001 on the big screen. Like, I would kill someone to. I hope you have a good break!
